How to Manage your Time to Maximize Profit

When you are running an Online Business there are many things to do and you can easily get overwhelmed. An affiliate business is no different from any other business and it is important to get organized or you can lose control of your business and find that it is running your life instead of you running your business.

Work one program at a time, perfect it then duplicate your success. Build on your successes and learn from failures. Tracking and recording will save you a lot of time and allow you to quickly reference places to advertise and promote.

  • Great post. I’ve been a fan of David Allen’s GTD – a flexible system to structure everything you need to do and organize every input that comes into your life. But it takes a lot of work.

    The most useful tip from the GTD system is to reinvent all todo lists and convert them to a list of Projects (Clearly defined desired outcomes) and Next Actions lists (physical, measurable tasks) organized by Contexts (places will do them or batching).

    GTD concepts are mostly solid. But recently, I’m feeling you do really have to let things slip through the cracks and just delete 80% of useless input in your life that is not giving 20% of output (or profit) – as Tim Ferriss’s talks about in his low-information diet and the Pareto Principle.

    Hmmm… between Ferris and Allen, there also seems to be a difference to as how one should prioritize…

  • Thank you for the advice. Actually I listen to Getting things done. I have read the book but did not change much in my planing. I guess I should try again. Have to figure out the optimal thing for me between low and hightech.

  • Yes, planing is very important if you want to reach any goal and not get lost in a way. But Internet is much faster then it used to be, for me personally, so I need to change my Priority List quite often. Sticking to it is the hardest part :)

    Yeah i think the most important thing is to create a list of the things you need to do, and organize it into priorities of what is the most important and valuable task that needs to be done first. A lot of people waste time on small tasks that add little or no value, which can be avoided by creating a list and regularly reviewing it.
