Thousands, even millions of bloggers worldwide are making use of Google’s Adwords program to promote their blog. You’ll need to spend for keywords to make these programs effective.
You might also want to use site-specific Adwords. Customized ads are much more attractive to visitors. They also allow you to take control of their placement, how they will look and what they will say.
Buy text link ads.
Text Link Ads that appear on relevant and trusted sites can increase your traffic and search engine rankings. They’re excellent for helping your blog increase its visibility by promoting it directly.
Buy sponsored reviews.
Sites such as ReviewMe.com and Sponsoredreviews.com can help you with word-of-mouth marketing. For as little as $5, you can get sites to review your blog and promote you to visitors and web surfers.
Pay for banner ads.
If you want to expand your site’s presence, you might want to consider paying for banner ads that appear on other people’s websites. Cost for banner ads varies but if your ads are well-placed and well-designed, they can be very effective in promoting your blog.
Are you selling products through your blog? Create your own affiliate program.
An affiliate program will cost you but it will open doors for you. Through word-of-mouth and affiliate participation, you can increase your readership and promote your blog in the process.

I use adwords. Without it, i earn about $2 a day through adsense just relying on usual traffic from search engines. Since using adwords, i spend $30 a day on it, and usually returns me around $120 a day. Which is awesome. I think its the way to go, thus agree with your article.

AdWords is probably the best paid way to promote your blog. You just can’t beat the targeted traffic you get.
I’ve used adwords too. I can assure it’s a great way to attract repeated visitors, especially if you have a blog frequently updated, with interesting articles (users tend too bookmark and subscribe to your feed). I think it’s a very good investment.
I use adwords. It’s fast, easy and, if used correctly, a not too much expensive way to get loyal visitors and readers :)
