video conferencingHave you compared services like web conferencing, video conferencing and a phone conference call? I bet, Video conferencing will be your choice! In case you dont know, a videoconference also known as a videoteleconference is a set of interactive telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to interact via two-way video and audio transmissions simultaneously. Video conferencing lets you meet face-to-face regardless of location. Now everyone can see and hear the exact same thing. It has also been called visual collaboration and is a type of groupware. It differs from videophone in that it is designed to serve a conference rather than individuals.

Video Conferencing becomes incredibly indemand because of its easy to use and it provides better communication between the two party.

Videoconferencing uses telecommunications of audio and video to bring people at different sites together for a meeting. This can be as simple as a conversation between two people in private offices (point-to-point) or involve several sites (multi-point) with more than one person in large rooms at different sites. Besides the audio and visual transmission of people, videoconferencing can be used to share documents, computer-displayed information, and whiteboards.

Simple analog videoconferences could be established as early as the invention of the television. Such videoconferencing systems consisted of two closed-circuit television systems connected via cable. During the first manned space flights, NASA used two radiofrequency (UHF or VHF) links, one in each direction. TV channels routinely use this kind of videoconferencing when reporting from distant locations, for instance. Then mobile links to satellites using special trucks became rather common.

AccuConference offers web conferencing with collaborative tools and desktop sharing. Show a PowerPoint or share an electronic document to enhance your meetings and events. Video conferencing is also available which will let you meet “face-to-face” regardless of location. Now everyone can see and hear the exact same thing.

It seems very interesting, the video conference is a great service undoubtedly

For whatever it’s worth, my experience with videoconferencing has been somewhat lackluster. Videoconferencing has been used in the pharma industry for many years now and I’ve worked for several companies that have quite sophisticated videoconferencing suites. Yet, despite the fancy equipment, my experience has been that folks still prefer the good old-fashioned way of meeting- in person. In fact, we rely on videoconferencing only when we have to: when we’re told we have to decrease our travel to save costs. This may be videoconferencing’s saving grace!

Video Conferencing can actually take away from the discussion being held. Many times, people are more concerned about how they come off in terms of visual (looks) than paying attention to what is being said.

Video Conferencing has been around almost as long as IP Telephony. Talking heads were not enough then and will likely not be enough anytime soon.

Combine document and desktop collaboration with video conferencing and then maybe.
