Friendster launches Friendster Mobile Edition

Friendster.com ; The Philippines most visited social network site according to comScore Media Metrix, just launched its mobile site (m.friendster.com). The mobile site is accessible from any Web-enabled mobile devices.

Using the Friendster Mobile Edition, Friendster users can get updates on their friends, check messages, review friend requests, post daily shoutouts, browse friends photos, browse user- and fan- profiles, search for users by name or email address, view friends birthdays, read daily horoscopes, and post bulletins. Initially though, users won’t be able to register, create an account, and instantly begin participating in the Friendster global community.

“We’ve taken our most popular core social networking features and made them easy to use via mobile devices,” marketing chief David Jones said.

Friendster Mobile will initially be offered in English, with additional languages to follow. While m.friendster.com is free for all mobile users, users remain subject to specific carrier data and/or wireless Internet service provider plans. Smart Telecommunications Mobile Internet is currently being offered for only Php10.00 per 30 minutes usage.

Users should bookmark m.friendster.com on their mobile browser of choice to make it even easier to access their Friendster networks while on the go and tell their friends about how easy it is to stay in touch via Friendster Mobile.

Friendster.com said that they are also planning to roll out additional mobile features over the next few months.
