I learned to meditate 23 years ago, now i know that the quality of my sleep depends on how regular i am with my meditation. I meditate twice a day and even though, the morning meditation is the one i enjoy the most, the afternoon meditation is the one that help me get rid of the tensions of the day and help me sleep better.
The meditation technique i use is TM (Transcendental Meditation, just mention it in case you are looking for a good technique, this one in particular has being scientifically validated. It is wonderful way of relaxing and releasing stress, it is natural and there are thousand of scientific studies from universities around the world and here in the US, American University is conducting one right now.
Hope this helps

Regards

I do some freelancing, and it's great but I do find it very stressful.

I know quite a few people who take prescription drugs to cope but that's just not something I would ever do.

One of the best stressbusters I have ever found is going for a long, brisk walk. Clears the mind, and burns off heaps of excess energy. I swear by it.
